St. Brendan Catholic School is seeking an Interim Middle School Social Studies Teacher for the remainder of the school. St. Brendan Catholic School is located in Bothell, WA (25 minutes from Seattle, WA). We have one class per grade in preschool through 8 th grade with a total of 255 students. The mission of St. Brendan Catholic School, in partnership with parents and the parish community, is to educate and empower students to act as Disciples of Christ, pursue academic excellence, and serve the Church and global community.
We have an active parent community as well as a supportive and engaging parish priest who enjoys spending time in the school. Our teacher candidates will work in collaboration with our dynamic, fun, and engaging middle school team.
Candidates must be practicing Catholics who are committed to sharing our Catholic faith with students and guiding students to achieve high academic standards. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree (preferably in education). A teaching certificate is preferred but we will consider highly motivated individuals who are in the process of obtaining a teaching certificate. Candidates should have good organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with principal in implementing the mission of the Parish and School. This is accomplished by participating in planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school's goals and objectives. The teacher is a member of the school staff and is a professional resource in designed educational specialties. Participates in regional and deanery collaborative efforts as approved and appropriate.Assures the planning and implementation of instructional programs and activities that further the Catholic philosophy and goals of the school. The teacher insures that the classroom atmosphere fosters knowledge of the Catholic faith, development of appropriate ethical choices, Catholic faith development and Christian leadership, and integrates Gospel values in daily classroom activity.Teacher will teach up to five class periods per day and will fulfill 8 th grade homeroom duties such as 8 th grade graduation, 8 th grade graduation dinner and 8 th grade retreat.Uses flexible, inclusive instructional strategies and adapts appropriate accommodations to ensure access, engagement, and success for diverse learners.Establishes and sustains strong partnerships with parents through consistent and meaningful communication.Assures the selections and organization of curriculum and instruction materials. The teacher adapts methods and materials to accommodate learner difference and plans for both long term and short-term instructional goals.Assures the development of a process for learning. This is accomplished by presenting a clear description of the learning task and its content. The teacher instructs students, monitors student understanding and reteaches when necessary.Assures the evaluations of students' progress. This is accomplished through the interpretation of data and the monitoring of classroom performance. The teacher utilizes this information to improve the quality of instruction. The teacher maintains accurate and current individual records of the student's academic progress and shares this information with both the student and the parent.Assures the creation and maintenance of a positive classroom environment that is conductive to learning. The teacher establishes and maintains appropriate behaviors and develops strategies to resolve conflict using the Positive Discipline and Love & Logic approach.Assures effective oral and written communication with school administrator, fellow faculty members, parents and students.Maintains current level of knowledge and skills required to effectively serve as teacher and seeks continuing education through continuing education.Ability to successfully integrate technology and STEM into instruction.Implement student support plans that provide…
