Summary:

Directs and oversees youth development and family programs, which includes, but is not limited to, youth sports and wellness, recreation and enrichment, Kids Club/Kids Zone, family activities, and teen programs. This position will lead and develop a dynamic team of youth development professionals, playing a key role in ensuring planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans are provided to participants.

You will lead a safe, high-quality youth and family department and supervise and evaluate staff and volunteers, including hiring and training, maintaining required staff/child ratios and conducting regular staff meetings. This role plays an important part of helping maintain professional relationships with families, facility personnel, and the community.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Directs and manages the development, operations, and growth of assigned program areas.

• Develops and manages the budgets related to the position. Meets fiscal objectives. Closely monitors revenue and expense.

• Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises assigned staff and volunteers in assigned areas.

• Compiles program statistics and provides data and reports as required for assigned programs. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.

• Provides leadership and support for branch management team, annual fundraising campaign, and volunteer committees as assigned.

• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and agencies related to assigned programs.

• Distributes program information necessary to promote assigned programs in accordance with branch marketing plans.

• Ensures that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with YMCA best practices and any other applicable standards.

• Ensures high quality programs through program development evaluations and ongoing training of staff.

• Ensures upkeep of related facilities and equipment.

• Other duties as assigned.
