Seattle Central College is looking to hire a Mitchell Activity Center Fitness Instructor
Hourly Rate for this position is $50/hr.
Opportunity is open until filled, first review of materials will begin December 29th, 2025.
Position SummaryThe Mitchell Activity Center (MAC) is a hub for students, staff and faculty at Seattle Central College to gather, socialize, recreate, and exercise. In addition, the MAC serves as a rental space for both college affiliated groups and external rental groups.
The Mitchell Activity Center Fitness Instructor is a part-time temporary position. This position contributes to group fitness classes at the Mitchell Activity Center. We are looking for instructors for Yoga. Duties include conducting and leading classes, demonstrating fitness techniques, motivating students, sending in daily class attendance and engaging with staff at the Mitchell Activity Cetner. This part-time position is typically assigned 2-6 hours per week, classes are 45-60 minutes in length and instructors are paid for set up and clean up time.
Morning and afternoon shifts are available.

- Answers basic informational and directional questions; refers users to appropriate employees as needed.
- Conduct and lead classes
- Demonstrate practice and techniques
- Visually assess students to determine their level of practice
- Assist students to achieve correct technique
- Motivate students with words of encouragement
- Offer training recommendations
- Send in daily class attendance

What you bring as a candidate- Previous teaching experience
- Education or experience in health and fitness
- Certification is preferable
- Ability to provide customer service to patrons and visitors.
- Ability to maintain positive and effective relationships with students and other employees.
