The Role
The Archdiocese of Seattle seeks talented, passionate, and engaging substitute teachers for all grades and subjects. This recruitment may be used for daily, weekly, and long-term temporary opportunities.
Applicants will be entered into our substitute work pool (hosted on Frontline/Aesop), where you can specify preferred schools. You may be contacted for work based on your experience and interests.
This position requires applicants to be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
Responsibilities
- Teach various courses as assigned.
- Follow school rules, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with school leadership and teachers.
- Participate in school events when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students in an educational setting or similar.
- Ability to supervise and manage students effectively.
- Ability to facilitate classroom instruction and implement lesson plans.
- Commitment to working in a Catholic environment supporting the development of confident, competent, and courageous young people prepared to lead in a multicultural world.
How to Apply

- Ensure your VIRTUS system is current or complete Safe Environment requirements, including background checks, abuse prevention education, and policies.
- Complete the I-9 form in person at a local school, bringing valid (passport, driver’s license) and Social Security card. Please schedule an appointment beforehand.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $15.74 – $28.93, varying by region and county.
