Position: User Experience Designer (Contingent)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Amazon through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by a contract staffing supplier and will not be an employee of Amazon.

At Amazon, UX Designers create intuitive, customer‑obsessed experiences across web, mobile, and emerging platforms. Designers collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that balance customer needs with business objectives. This role requires strong ownership, creativity, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous problem spaces while insisting on high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design elegant, user‑centred experiences by incorporating customer insights, business requirements, and technical constraints.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity mockups with detailed specifications.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and researchers to define requirements and validate solutions.
  • Conduct or coordinate user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Present design work to peers, stakeholders, and executive leadership for feedback and alignment.
  • Contribute to and drive standardization of design systems, visual languages, and reusable components.
  • Facilitate workshops and design reviews to build consensus and foster collaboration.
  • Advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and customer needs across all design solutions.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to team culture by sharing feedback and best practices.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2‑6 years of industry experience in UX, interaction design, or related fields (experience expectations vary by level).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating end‑to‑end, user‑centred design solutions across desktop and mobile.
  • Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative design processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands‑on experience conducting user research and usability studies.
  • Strong visual design skills to complement UX expertise.
  • Experience in e‑commerce, advertising, or large‑scale consumer platforms.
  • Ability to drive design reviews and close on requirements independently.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with accessible and inclusive design principles.
  • Experience mentoring and elevating design talent.
  • Exposure to AI‑enabled design tools or multimodal experiences.
