CONTRACT LENGTH: 6 months
LOCATION: 5 days/week in Seattle, WA (551 Boren Ave N, Seattle, Washington 98109)
HOURS: 40 hrs/week, no OT, Mon-Fri core hours
PAY RANGE: $45-50
- Champion customer needs and challenge assumptions grounded in technical or operational limitations.
- Advocate for partners to think bigger and push for best experiences, even when facing resistance.
- Fill gaps in design or user research, using a scrappy approach to develop an understanding of customers and their needs.
- Align diverse stakeholders in a challenging space.
- Use research, design jams, workshops, and artifacts such as personas and journey maps to drive product CX strategy.
- Define next steps, explore ideas, and push teams to make decisions.
Need CE support to execute the project.
What is this contractor specifically doing?- Create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups to communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to define business and feature requirements through empirical online data, usability findings, market research, and proven UCD principles.
- Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features via usability testing and analytics interpretation.
- Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and client executives for review and feedback.
- Contribute to UI design and development best practices and standards.
- Lead in ecommerce trends, web application design, and UI innovations.
Minimum 6+ years of industry experience.
- Experience providing interaction design solutions for web and/or software applications.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in design, human‑computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluency in best practices for web‑based information architecture and design, and strong knowledge of usability principles.
- Proficiency with Figma and a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver.
- Strong online portfolio demonstrating past work and user‑centered design solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with highly technical teams and manage multiple projects in an agile, fast‑paced environment.
- Prototyping skills in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash highly desired.
- Self‑starter who is customer‑obsessed, detail‑oriented, and enthusiastic team player.
- 2 rounds: 1 with hiring manager, 1 with team member.
