What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Assist chairside with dental procedures and support dental residents and faculty in patient care
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, students, faculty, and staff
  • Maintain and prepare treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization
  • Monitor and manage dental instruments and supplies, including sterilization processes
  • Instruct students on the role of dental assistants in patient care delivery
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Completion of an accredited training program for dental assistants
  • Current certification as a dental assistant (CDA) or ability to obtain within six months
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a dental assistant, with one year of additional experience substituting for education
  • Registration with the State of Washington as a Dental Assistant
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience in a clinical dental setting, particularly in assisting with complex procedures
  • Familiarity with dental software and electronic health records
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and good judgment
  • Experience in educating or mentoring dental students or residents
