We have an opportunity for an Associate Designer, Concept to join the team. As the Associate Designer, you will understand how product design, market analysis and data analytics evolve retail strategies. You will direct and communicate trends, influence colors, print/pattern, fabric and silhouette for specific areas. You will also produce and communicate trend stories on a seasonal basis, and collaborate with Design in implementation and execution of trend ideas.
Aday in the life…
- Responsible for the concept, creation and development of processes for multiple brands with Senior Concept Designer’s oversight
- Maintain and develop clear understanding of brand’s aesthetic, seasonal product priorities, and current state of business in order to shift quickly and tailor work to drive business
- Identifies and directs trend communication on latest market trend information and confirmation of already forecasted trends
- Oversees seasonal trend direction and presents a visual point of view through inspiration & mood boards
- Drives efficiencies across multiple category reporting to ensure team success
- Influence product during development and assortment phases to ensure relevant, engaging offerings for the customer
- Researches, creates and delivers inspiring solution-oriented content specific to assigned categories
- Competitively shops to understand the landscape and report back findings to team + CFTs
- Communicates high-level category insights with Trend team to help define trend enterprise POV
- College degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or a related field
- 3+ years of Concept Design or related experience
- Passion for Fashion and Brand Development along with the ability to Identify key trends and determine how they appropriately relate to the brand/ consumer
- Strong Analytical Skills + Ability to identify patterns
- Strong knowledge of textiles, artwork techniques, fabric and color
- Proficient in Illustrator and capable in Microsoft, Photoshop, InDesign, Miro, etc.
- Positive and passionate with strong problem-solving skills
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills and desire to work in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with business partners & team mates
