The Role

As a Senior Writer of Global Health and Life Sciences, you’ll be part of a high-caliber, fast-paced, and cross-functional team that translates scientific breakthroughs and health innovations into impactful stories that engage policymakers, stakeholders, and the public. This role bridges storytelling with impact, focusing on global health and life sciences. You’ll work with technical experts, data analysts, designers, illustrators, animators, data visualization specialists and strategists to develop frameworks that bring science and health narratives to life.

Salary: $125,000-$135,000

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of materials, including briefs, reports, blogs, web copy, case studies, and social media content for global health, biotech and pharmaceutical clients.
  • Translate technical and scientific information into clear, accurate, and engaging language tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Draft human-centered stories that showcase the impact of programs, research, and innovations in global health, biotech, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Conduct desk research on public health topics, emerging trends, and policy developments to inform content development.
  • Review and synthesize reports, datasets, and interviews to produce concise, evidence-based materials.
  • Support message development by gathering relevant facts, data, and background context from reliable sources.
  • Work closely with partners, data analysts, designers, and technical experts to deliver high-quality, on-brand content for clients.
  • Participate in content planning meetings and contribute ideas for campaigns, reports, and knowledge products.
  • Incorporate feedback from internal reviewers and client teams to ensure all deliverables meet expectations and deadlines.

Editing & Quality Control

  • Ensure all written materials follow client-specific style guides, branding, and tone.
  • Review content for clarity, grammar, and consistency, and confirm alignment with communication goals.
  • Manage the editing process with external editors, translators, and proofreaders to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Project Support

  • Help organize and maintain content calendars, writing trackers, and document repositories.
  • Assist in managing deliverable timelines and version control across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, event materials, and dissemination products as needed.
  • Stay current on global health, biotech, and life sciences topics to inform ongoing content development.

Track best practices in health communications, storytelling, and digital engagement to strengthen content quality.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7–9 years of experience in science or global health communications.
  • Proven expertise in design and content strategy within global health/life sciences.
  • Strong client management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency with digital tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical experts, strategists, designers, and writers.
  • Ability to travel internationally and/or domestically.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, public health, or communications.
  • Experience with international health organizations or advocacy groups.
  • Familiarity with digital engagement strategies and SEO best practices.

Skills
