Summary of Position

Representing The Salvation Army's spiritual and musical ministry in all spheres of influence within the Northwest (NW) Division, this position will assist the Divisional Music & Gospel Arts Director in the development of the music and creative arts programs in the Corps, and the overall divisional music and creative arts ministry.

Responsibilities
  • Corps Programming and Assistance with Leadership Development
  • Assist in the coordination and teaching of various music disciplines around the NW division, either online or in‑person
  • Assist with the development and mentorship of Corps music and arts leaders who will teach and lead Corps music and arts programs.
  • Coordinate with Corps to instruct students at 2–4 locations per week.
  • Supply the Corps within the division with music equipment, resources, and materials such as instruments, music, theory materials, and other necessary music equipment that will help both employees and local music leaders conduct successful music programs within the Corps setting.
  • Travel to program events, classes, productions, as required.
  • Assist with Corps music program concerts and events.
Program Support
  • Assist with and/or lead any NW Divisional ensembles, as assigned by the Divisional Music & Gospel Arts Director
    • Coordinate for, or drive to, airport pickups of ensemble members as needed.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records of music department inventory, including musical instruments, equipment, hardware, and all necessary components.
  • Manage the divisional music library, physical and digital.
  • Organize ensembles for special programs or events as requested.
  • Oversee the implementation and recording of the divisional MAP (Music & Arts Proficiency) program.
  • Assist in the annual kettle effort, including but not limited to:
    • Play in groups as needed.
    • Organize and lead groups as needed.
    • Assist Corps with kettle events.
    • Assist in leading Kettle fundraising concert events.
  • Work diligently in all areas of the Corps ministry to enhance both the musical and spiritual enrichment of the participants within the tenants of The Salvation Army and the directives, mission and goals of the Program Department and music programs.
  • Work to establish a vibrant divisional music ministry that allows individuals to use their gifts and talents to the fullest as they serve the mission and tenants of The Salvation Army and the directives, goals of the Program Department.
Summer Camp
  • Serve on the summer music staff at Camp Arnold and Camp Gifford, including but not limited to:
    • Traveling to camp
    • Leading classes
    • Final concert host
  • Assist in class and equipment coordination for Music & Worship Arts Camp, including but not limited to:
    • Copying of class materials
    • Setting up and moving AV equipment as needed
    • Purchasing items and equipment as needed
  • Lead one of the tracks at Musical Theater Camp.
  • Lead, organize, and coordinate volunteer staff, class offerings, equipment, and all needs for Junior Music Camp.
  • Event Coordination, Engagement, and Logistics.
Divisional
  • Assist as needed with the coordination of details and coordination for divisional events, including but not limited to:
