Full‑time position.
Core Responsibilities- Coordinate daily editorial planning across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social platforms.
- Monitor breaking news and trending topics to identify coverage opportunities.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of information distributed across all platforms.
- Work closely with digital, broadcast, and social team to adapt stories appropriately for each channel.
- Maintain communication with field crews, assignment editors, producers, and managers throughout the day.
- Vet and verify information from scanners, social media, and community sources.
- Liaise with external partners (public information officers, agencies, community leaders, networks, other stations, and freelancers).
- Oversee logistics such as crew scheduling, equipment deployment, and live coverage coordination.
- Contribute editorial judgment during breaking news and high‑pressure situations.
- Uphold ethical standards, legal requirements, and organizational editorial policies.
- Perform website updates in breaking news situations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Strong multiplatform editorial skills, including understanding of broadcast, digital news writing, and social media best practices.
- Exceptional news judgment and the ability to prioritize in a fast‑moving, deadline‑driven environment.
- Proficiency with newsroom tools, such as iNews, analytics dashboards, and social media monitoring tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask across multiple storylines, teams, and technology platforms.
- Strong fact‑checking and verification skills with understanding of journalistic ethics.
- Comfort with breaking news workflows, including managing live shots, field crews, and rapid updates.

Compensation and BenefitsHourly compensation range: $32.00 – $35.62. Estimated annual compensation: $75,004.80 – $90,001.60.
