Description
The ideal candidate should have extensive buying experience as well as demonstrated ability to plan assortments independently, think strategically, analyze and interpret data, spot market trends, and collaborate with vendors. A detail-oriented and analytical mindset is a must along with a strong proficiency in Excel and a natural curiosity for the customer.
You will be expected to thrive in ambiguous situations, take ownership of goals, and work in a fast-paced environment to deliver results. Much of this work will be cross-functional, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an optimal assortment.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to drive successful results. You will utilize a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as supply chain, marketing, merchandising, pricing, and private brands to drive performance.
Key job responsibilities- Own the P&L for multiple large categories, hitting top and bottom line targets
- Develop category strategies, detailing what changes will be made to the categories over the next year and the direction you want to take the categories over the next three years
- Plan the assortment for multiple categories, determining what items to put on our digital shelves
- Develop strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure early insight into new trends and products; early and exclusive access to new items; merchandising and promotions and competitive costs
- Plan Online features and other traffic driving initiatives in coordination with marketing
- 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
- Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
- Big box retail company, Category Management experience
- Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
