Description

The Senior Vendor Manager position is for a passionate customer and brand advocate within Amazon with proven analytical capabilities, project management skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize. The Senior Vendor Manager is a P&L owner and hands‑on operator working with some of the world’s greatest brands that have a direct selling relationship with Amazon. The SVM must be an excellent communicator, collaborating daily with supply chain, finance, advertising, and other functions to position the business for growth and sustainable success.

A great SVM candidate has a "can do" attitude, drives customer‑centric outcomes, and delivers measurable business results. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with a passion for retail, high flexibility, and commitment.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Act as the business owner for assigned categories, owning forecasting, monitoring, and reporting on the business, and driving projects and promotions to achieve objectives.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality, and business trends/events, continuously monitoring competitor and industry developments.
  • Maximize Amazon’s business profitability and selection expansion opportunities.
  • Understand customer needs—both existing and potential—and advocate for and deliver site features that provide Amazon customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including supplier/partner contracts, day‑to‑day interactions, and negotiations for marketing funds.
  • Create business plans for new opportunities and execute project plans for new feature launches, incorporating merchandising and pricing strategies.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams, communicate with stakeholders, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of account management, project or program management, or buying experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
  • Experience driving internal cross‑team collaboration.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
  • Experience negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience driving direction and alignment with cross‑functional teams.
  • MBA.
  • Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and options for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
