Procurement and Demand Specialist

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing goods and services, negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of quality products at the best value for the organization.

Procurement related responsibilities:

• Ensuring accurate capturing of information on the system, including but not limited to Purchase Orders, Product Receipts, Movement Journals, and Invoices (where required).

Procurement of Packaging Material Stock:

• Placing orders based on requirements for production from Customer Sales Orders.
• Ensuring on-time delivery of stock to have minimal effect on production.
• Lean stock holding.
• Ensuring minimum write-offs for end of ranges.
• Ensuring invoices received for stock are checked and handed in on time.

Sourcing related responsibilities:

• Taking full responsibility for the sourcing of packaging items for new projects.
• Finding realistic, creative packaging options from reliable suppliers at the best price possible with the best MOQs that match the product lines usage.
• Communicating with the relevant R&D departments to ensure on-time receipt of designs, INCIs, and artwork submissions.
• Ensuring this information is loaded onto the system timeously and that artworks are sent to suppliers with our orders.
• Ensuring samples are requested and receipted in time for all necessary testing and approvals.

• 3-year degree or diploma (Packaging Engineering advantageous).
• Procurement/Buying experience in a packaging material field will be beneficial.
• Advanced Excel skills - must be able to at least do the following in Excel:
  Conditional Formatting.
• Proficiency in negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable agreements for the organization.
