Operations Manager
- Pay or shift range: $67,900 USD to $85,000 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job‑related reasons.
Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and resourceful Recruiter to lead national hiring efforts for Metro Shore Services (MSS) and Terminal Security Solutions (TSS). This role focuses on building a robust pipeline of part‑time hourly staff for Pier and Airport operations across multiple ports. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to divisional leadership, driving recruitment initiatives that align with operational needs and company growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies tailored to each port and business line.
- Source, screen, and coordinate interviews for part‑time hourly roles.
- Maintain ongoing communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Partner with division leaders to assess current recruitment practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage job postings via UKG and external platforms; ensure postings are refreshed regularly.
- Build and maintain a network of candidate sources including schools, veteran organizations, and employment agencies.
- Collaborate with colleges to create paid work experience opportunities aligned with academic programs.
- Identify and attend relevant job fairs; coordinate participation with local Operations Managers.
- Create recruitment materials (ads, flyers, social media posts) in partnership with the marketing team.
- Track and report recruitment metrics including hiring rates and turnover trends.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in high‑volume recruitment for hourly roles.
- Familiarity with State and Federal employment laws.
- Experience with UKG (preferred; training provided).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interviewing skills.
- Self‑motivated and comfortable working independently and remotely.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

For administrative roles: This role requires the ability to see, hear, speak, and communicate clearly. Manual dexterity is needed for operating standard office equipment. The position may occasionally involve lifting items up to 10 pounds and may require occasional travel to meet accountabilities.
For operations roles: This role requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. It may involve regular exposure to outdoor environments and active work sites. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the task. Some positions may require travel between job sites.
For administrative roles: Work is typically performed in a clean, well‑lit, and climate‑controlled office environment with low to moderate noise levels. Occasional visits to field locations may be required.
For operations roles: Work may be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including active job sites with varying weather conditions and potential exposure to noise, dust, and other occupational hazards. Safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided and required as appropriate.
