The department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Office Assistant 3 at the Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) in Forks, Washington. Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) is a 381-bed male facility located near the Hoh Rainforest. This facility houses minimum security incarcerated individuals and offers treatment, work and vocational programs to help ready incarcerated individuals to transition back into the community. OCC also has outside work crews to serve the community as well as fire crews that work alongside Department of Natural Resource employees.
Whether the work is inside a prison, in community corrections, or in an administrative office, the Washington State Department of Corrections professional staff experience a high degree of personal satisfaction knowing they are creating environments in which all incarcerated individuals can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society.

- Receive and direct public: give information to visitors or callers pertaining to procedures and/or non-campus activities.
- Provide notification to designated staff or official visitors.
- Serve as the back-up hearings clerk and Incident Report entries.
- Receive, record and process incoming and outgoing incarcerated individual property.
- Provide support and coordination for the facility callouts.
- Read (by scanning) all incoming and outgoing incarcerated mail.
- Log and track incarcerated individual legal mail and money receipts.
- Maintain the institution’s Master Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Update Safety Bulletin board and the Safety Program Manual.
- Compile quarterly “Accumulative Accident Report Summary” information.
- Type, scan and file all resolution requests.
- Distribute and track resolution investigations and responses.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Two (2) years’ experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work.
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs:
Word, Excel and Powerpoint. - Ability to write clearly, factually and concisely.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Ability to identify, address, and document rule violations.
