Position DetailsCity of Auburn Community Center within our Parks, Arts, & Recreation Department is looking to hire a Front Desk Clerk. This is a part‑time, non‑benefited position that involves front desk reception and office work. Work duties include frequent interaction with the public in person and on the telephone, and using the automated registration system to schedule, record, and process class, athletic, and facility registrations.
In addition, this position answers questions and informs patrons of activities, classes, and amenities available at the Community and Events Center.
This position has three shifts:
- 7am – 10am Monday – Friday
- 4pm – 8pm Monday – Friday
- 8am – 4pm Saturday
All staff are required to work Saturdays on a rotating basis. Weekday shifts are generally kept to the morning or evening.
Primary Duties- Answer telephones and interact with the public as the receptionist, make photocopies, distribute mail, and file a variety of materials according to established department procedures. You will also archive materials and physically move boxes to the appropriate areas.
- Use computer programs for word processing, data entry, spreadsheet assignments, correspondence, reports, and forms.
- Perform data entry and cashiering. You may perform recordkeeping or some more advanced bookkeeping functions depending on skills and operational needs.
- Deal tactfully and courteously with the public, colleagues, and other City employees, occasionally in difficult customer service situations.
- Have a High School Diploma, or equivalent
- Have experience as a receptionist or administrative assistant
- Have Microsoft Office experience in a Windows environment
- Have knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems
