A growing, project-driven organization in the construction and energy space is seeking a skilled accounting professional to join its finance team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of core accounting processes while working closely with operational teams to ensure financial accuracy across active projects. This role sits at the center of day-to-day accounting operations and is designed for someone ready to move beyond purely transactional work. You’ll contribute to the monthly close cycle, maintain clean financial records, and support job cost visibility that leadership relies on for decision‑making. Key Responsibilities General Accounting & Close Support- Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including cash and credit accounts
- Assist with monthly and periodic financial close activities
- Support internal reporting and financial analysis
- Assist with work-in-progress tracking and reporting
- Review coding accuracy and cost allocations
- Partner with operations teams to ensure project financial integrity
- Contribute to margin and profitability insights
- Generate invoices based on project milestones or contract terms
- Record customer payments and maintain accurate aging data
- Process vendor and subcontractor invoices with proper cost coding
- Assist with collection follow‑up when needed
- Help prepare routine financial reports and variance explanations
- Support documentation needed for audits or tax preparation
- Participate in inventory or cost reconciliation activities
- Identify opportunities to strengthen controls and workflows
- Assist with documenting accounting procedures and best practices
- Recommend improvements that enhance reporting reliability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Approximately 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience participating in month‑end close activities
- Familiarity with accrual‑based accounting and general ledger structure
- Exposure to project‑based, construction, or cost accounting environments preferred
- ERP system experience required;
Net Suite or similar platforms - Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Organized, detail-focused, and dependable
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating cross‑functionally
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven setting
- Clear communicator with a proactive mindset
