Staff Accountant

Description

A well established organization in Seattle is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team on a long-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands on accounting, high volume reconciliations and contributing to a fast‑paced finance environment.

About the Role

This position supports multiple business units and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable managing both daily transactional work and month‑end close responsibilities.

Responsibilities

+ Support the month‑end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger reviews

+ Perform daily and monthly cash and bank reconciliations

+ Identify prepaid invoices and maintain amortization schedules

+ Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany accounts

+ Assist with multi‑entity accounting and voucher preparation

+ Partner with AP, AR, billing, and treasury teams to resolve discrepancies

+ Maintain accurate financial documentation and assist with audit support

+ Work within an ERP and treasury system (training provided)

Requirements

Qualifications

+ 2-5+ years of accounting experience

+ Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month‑end close

+ Experience working in high‑volume transactional environments

+ Ability to work across multiple entities or cost centers

+ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

+ Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred

+ Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage deadlines

Schedule & Work Environment

+ On‑site 3 days a week in West Seattle, WA

+ Monday-Friday, standard business hours (flexible start between 6am and 9am)
