Student Assistant Cook – Approximately 5 hours/week

Food Service Manager and Business Manager

Under general supervision, this position assists in preparing nutritious and attractive meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean kitchen and cafeteria and observing all Health Department regulations to create a safe and healthy work environment and deliveries food.

• Current Seaside High School student
• Acceptable attendance records
• Have a Food Handler’s Permit, or the ability to obtain a permit upon hire

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policy(ies) and procedures.
• Knows and follows all safety and sanitary rules and regulations related to food handling.
• Serves school meals (i.e., breakfast and lunch).
• Assists in preparing components of school meals (cutting, cooking, assembly).
• Sets‑up, breaks down, and sanitizes designated areas and items.
• Washes dishes and operates automatic kitchen equipment maintaining sanitary specifications.
• Assists in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of the kitchen.
• Maintains a high standard of personal cleanliness and proper grooming as per sanitation code.
• Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff and students.
• Attends work regularly and is punctual.
• Attends staff meetings as requested.
• Serves as back‑up for other kitchen personnel, as needed.

The position will provide for an hourly wage at $15.05 per hour. Hours worked will be one hour per day, as needed while students are in attendance. Employment duration is per term. Employment may be renewed at the discretion of Administration. No additional benefits are included with this position. Open until filled.
