the ideal candidate will be personable, approachable, patient, tech‑savvy, and can work well with people of all ages and abilities. Basic computer skills are needed to teach seniors how to use email, navigate the internet, and use google‑based apps. This person will work in one or both of the computer labs designated for seniors: carson event center or carson park. This person will collaborate with another instructor to develop curriculum and will often work independently when teaching classes.
workweek schedule
monday‑friday, hours varies (these functions are representative and may not be present in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.)
- plans, organizes and instructs special interest classes or programs.
- develops and schedules classes for various age groups.
- prepares reports on the status of the special interest class or program as needed.
- may be assigned duties as a sports official on an urgency basis.
completion of formal education sufficient to assure the ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance and demonstrable proficiency in an appropriate area.
knowledge of- special interest area of instruction; correct english usage.
- effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and deal tactfully with the public.
special qualifications for particular recreation and leisure service activities shall be added as required.
