Qualifications
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Licensed EMT, Physician Assistant, or Nursing school student preferred. - Training and
Experience:
Previous ED experience preferred; must have effective communication skills and knowledge of ED procedures, supplies, and equipment. - Job Knowledge & Responsibilities:
Maintains good physical and emotional well‑being; requires extensive walking, bending, pushing carts, wheelchairs, and other equipment. Demonstrates ability to set priorities, organize workload, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to deliver timely and efficient patient care. Acts as a patient and family liaison and communicates effectively with ED physicians, nurses, and ancillary department associates. - Safety Sensitive: YES

DescriptionThe Emergency Department Technician provides assistance with the care of ER patients. This assistance enhances the flow of ED patients through the department, increases patient satisfaction, and enables the ED nurses and physicians to complete their tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Consideration is given to the age and developmental status of the patient. The ED Technician will not administer medication.
