- Develop ongoing thought leadership and the strategic vision for Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) shared with RCM and corporate leadership.
- Oversee all RCM functions including Billing, Payment Application, third-party AR Management, and Denials Prevention/Appeals, Credits/Refunds.
- Develop, implement, and manage policies, processes, and performance monitoring across all RCM functions.
- Lead the establishment and implementation of KPIs for RCM operations; measure and report performance; implement action plans as needed.
- Identify potential process improvements and lead design and implementation.
- Ensure RCM employees comply with policies, processes, compliance, and quality assurance programs.
- Coordinate RCM transition points with other functional areas and oversee billing, A/R, and payment processes.
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to manage third-party denials and implement denials prevention/recovery programs.
- Participate in payer trend analyses and communicate findings to stakeholders; define solutions and initiate resolution.
- Build relationships and facilitate communication between revenue cycle stakeholders and other departments.
- Create a work environment that encourages creativity, open dialogue, growth, and high performance; support employee decision-making.
- Participate in or lead cross-functional revenue cycle projects and complete any duties or special assignments as requested.
- Required:
A Bachelor’s degree or at least seven (7) years of management experience in Revenue Cycle Management in a progressive healthcare environment, with experience in Authorization, Eligibility, Billing, Payment Application, third-party AR Management, Denials Prevention/Appeals, and Credits/Refunds. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; strong time management and organizational skills.
- Self-directed with ability to work with multiple stakeholders and teams; capable of independent decision-making and collaboration with other leaders.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and high volumes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Preferred:
Ten (10) years of revenue cycle operations, consulting, and/or project management experience; leadership or participation in RCM transformation; multi-location revenue cycle leadership; experience with EMR/patient accounting systems;
Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration or Business Administration (preferred). - Other Requirements:
Ability to adhere to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries.
- Must be able to travel; driving may be required. A valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR may be required.
- Physical requirements include occasional lifting up to 40 pounds, ability to climb stairs, and adequate vision, hearing, smell, and touch.
- Age:
Must be 18 years or older;
Language: must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English. - Work Environment:
Office setting during agency hours; may involve exposure to allergens and other conditions.
