Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Out of Production Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Fleet Support organization has a great opportunity for an Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Design & Analysis Engineer (Experienced, Senior or Principal) to join our team in Seal Beach, CA.
Position OverviewIn this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the safety and reliability of the Out of Production (OoP) fleet. The OoP ECS Design Engineering (DE) team is dedicated to providing exceptional compliance and technical support, driving initiatives such as Boeing design, certification, the Continued Operation Safety Program (COSP) and addressing Service Related Problems (SRP). As part of our commitment to operational excellence, this position may require some travel, allowing you to engage directly with our fleet and contribute to our mission of maintaining the highest standards of safety and performance.

Position Responsibilities- Requirements Traceability & Development Assurance
- Supports development and documentation of Environmental Control System analysis and architecture (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, etc.)
- System Safety Analysis Documentation, including the creation of Fault Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Fault Tree Analysis.
- Assesses complex system events to determine potential safety issues, utilizing airplane function integration at the system and component level.
- Contributes to development of hardware, software, and system performance requirements, as well as supplier qualification of these components and systems.
- Works directly with airline customers and airplane component suppliers to ensure effective system integration and customer satisfaction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 3+ years of experience working with or on an engineering team.
- 1+ years of experience working in a multi-disciplined Systems Engineering environment.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment and have good verbal and written communication skills.
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
- 1+ years of experience being a team leader.
- 1+ years of experience with engineering disciplines related to aircraft Environmental Control Systems analysis, including compressible/in compressible fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, physical chemistry, systems…
