. The BGS SCE Supplier Recovery Team delivers engineering support for Supply Chain‑led supplier recovery operations and integrates across all business units and supplier facilities to achieve long‑lasting Supply Chain Recovery. This role focuses on translating engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes at supplier sites to restore supplier production capability to meet delivery, quality, and cost commitments to BGS customers.

Position Responsibilities
  • Support supplier recovery projects by developing and validating manufacturing processes, routings, and process controls that meet program requirements.
  • Perform on‑site supplier process assessments to identify non‑conformances, capacity limits, tooling deficiencies, and process risks.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional recovery teams (Global Field Operations, Supplier Management & Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain Recovery teams) to implement containment, root‑cause countermeasures, and permanent corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing process validations, first‑article/production approvals, and test/inspection plans.
  • Design and specify shop aides, tooling and fixtures; coordinate vendor sourcing or in‑house fabrication as required.
  • Support supplier implementation of lean manufacturing practices (SMED, 5S, standardized work, manufacturing documentation) to restore throughput and reduce variability.
  • Troubleshoot process failures with hands‑on technical leadership, implementing corrective actions and verifying effectiveness.
  • Analyze manufacturing operating plans, document constraints, determine capacity and negotiate alternatives as required.
  • Evaluate product assembly instructions and standardize assembly practices.
  • Travel regularly to supplier sites for hands‑on support, validation, and return to stable production.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on‑site at one of the listed location options.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly to supplier sites (Up to 50% of the time).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in supplier‑facing roles or production environments. Aerospace supplier experience preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, fixture design, or process validation.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and experience with root‑cause methods.
  • Effective communication skills for supplier engagement and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing standards (AS9100), FAI/AS, and repair/overhaul processes (MRO).
