Overview
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship Required. Company is hiring for Structural Analysis Engineers (Experienced or Senior) to support our Airframe Customer Support Engineering, located in Seal Beach, California.
As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will leverage the extensive resources and deep technical knowledge of the Company enterprise while enjoying the agility and fast-paced environment of a smaller team. This role offers opportunities to collaborate globally, develop innovative solutions to complex structural challenges, and contribute to rapid aircraft repair processes—enabling the return of airplanes to service in as little as four hours.
Ideal candidates will be driven, resourceful, and passionate about advancing fleet reliability and safety through cutting-edge structural analysis and repair methodologies.
- Performs detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Company tools. This analysis supports responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and to show compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Researches and prepares data to support definition of structural design requirements.
- Accounts for customer impact of solutions and provide temporary repair options when a permanent repair is not feasible.
- Reviews and approves structural analysis, supports airframe repairs, provides expertise to respond to customer inquiries, develops service bulletins, and investigates failures to maintain continued airworthiness/mission capability, service documents for compliance with applicable FAA Federal Aviation Regulations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in structural analysis.
- 7+ years of experience with structural analysis methods and repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques, damage tolerance methods used in maintenance programs).
- Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and the ability to work variable shifts, including weekends or overtime.
- Experience with Company aircraft models.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working transport category airplane certification or production/fleet support projects involving FAA approval.
- Masters of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace engineering.
- Ability to work with diverse teams.
- Experience with teaching, mentoring, and leading teams.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
