The City of Seabrook Parks Department is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Gatekeeper to support daily park operations. This role is essential to maintaining safe, controlled access to Pine Gully Park while providing a welcoming experience for visitors.
Position SummaryThe Gatekeeper is responsible for opening and closing park gates, greeting visitors, managing park entry, and ensuring park rules and closing times are followed. This position works primarily outdoors and plays a key role in the safety and daily operations of the park.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Open and close Pine Gully Park gates according to established schedules
- Greet park visitors and monitor vehicle entry
- Collect park entry fees or verify valid park passes
- Inform visitors of park rules, hours, and closing times
- Perform park closing duties, including clearing the park and securing gates at sundown
- Maintain accurate records as required
- Communicate concerns or issues to the Parks Superintendent
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Work weekends and holidays as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Part-time / seasonal (as applicable)
- Must be available weekends and holidays
- Outdoor work environment
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- No prior experience required
- Ability to follow instructions and interact professionally with the public
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including over uneven terrain
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and use hands and arms
- Ability to lift light objects (up to 10 pounds) and occasionally lift heavier objects (50 pounds or more)
- Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
- Ability to hear and communicate effectively
- Primarily outdoors
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, traffic, and other environmental factors
- May require use of personal protective equipment
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Texas with a good driving record, preferred.
Salary: $12.80 - $15.22 per hour
