Client: Anonymous (FMCG / Wholesale / Retail Sector)
We are supporting a fast‑growing organisation within the FMCG/wholesale sector as they expand their financial operations. They are seeking a commercially focused Management Accountant to take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, overhead reporting, and financial insight across the business.
The successful candidate will partner with senior leaders, drive improvements across reporting processes, and provide the financial analysis required to support strategic decisions and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities- Business partner with cost centre owners and department heads to manage budgets, analyse variances, and support cost optimisation.
- Lead monthly management accounting processes, including accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and overhead reporting.
- Prepare detailed monthly overhead packs with narrative commentary and variance analysis.
- Build, maintain, and improve financial models to enhance forecasting accuracy and reporting quality.
- Deliver payroll-related reporting, including salary analysis, recharges, and associated month‑end adjustments.
- Analyse financial and non‑financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Own and enhance weekly trading and performance reporting, improving processes and data flows.
- Drive continuous improvements across forecasting, planning tools, and reporting frameworks.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, P&L management, balance sheet controls, and cash flow.
- Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, modelling).
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, able to present insight to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and driving efficiencies.
- £45,000–£50,000 salary depending on experience
- Hybrid working with regular on‑site presence in Scunthorpe
- 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increases with service)
