Are you a dedicated Maths Teacher, keen to make a difference within SEN Education?
A well-established Specialist Provision in Scunthorpe are seeking a Maths Teacher to lead a small group of children aged 11-16 with complex SEMH, ASC and other learning needs.
Job Description:
- Permanent, full-time Maths Teaching position
- Nurturing SEMH School
- Work with students aged 11-16 years with a range of needs: ASC, SEMH, other complex learning and mental health needs
- Small classes of max. 4-5 students (high staff/student ratios)
- Trauma-informed practice, child-centred approach
- Oversee class Teaching Assistants to ensure all students can thrive
- Start date as soon as possible (happy to work around notice periods; the school are keen to have the right person, even if it means waiting until you are available).
- QTS/QTLS desirable, with experience working in a Primary, or preferably SEND setting with children with similar SEND
- Maths competency up to GCSE level is essential, but you don't need to have a Maths degree or be a Maths specialist
- Child-centred approach to teaching - understands and implements trauma-informed practices
- Calm and patient demeanour, with strong classroom management skills
- Excellent behaviour management, adaptability to deal with unpredictable and unregulated behaviour
This is a special opportunity to join a nurturing SEMH Provision in Scunthorpe. The school caters to 36 children aged 10-16; as a Maths Teacher, you will lead a small class of up to 5 children. The school takes a child-centred approach to education, with high staff/student ratios, and all strategies implement trauma-informed practice.
