Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position with Cerner EMR and a 1:6 patient ratio.

• Work on Medical/Surgical Units (Floor 6 and Floor 10) in a hospital setting
• 30 beds per unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30, including every other weekend and every other holiday requirements
• Procedures include EKG monitoring, IV and Foley insertion, medication administration, RSI assistance, vital signs, point-of-care blood glucose testing, and assessment documentation
• Uses Cerner EMR; prior experience with Cerner preferred
• May be required to float to other units as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must provide safe and effective nursing care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population
• Must be available for assigned holiday and weekend coverage
• Blocked scheduling may be requested
• RTO requests must be less than 1 week
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Certifications must not expire within 30 days of start date

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 1-2+ years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• No previous permanent employment at any CHS facility within the last 2 years
