Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg travel assignment requiring a PA or compact license and strong Med/Surg background.
Responsibilities- Medical-Surgical units on hospital floors 6 and 10
- 30-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:6
- Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Responsibilities include EKG, IV and Foley insertion, medication administration, vital signs, assessment documentation, assisting with RSI, and point-of-care blood glucose testing
- Floating to other units as needed
- Blocked scheduling may be requested
- Cerner EMR is used on this unit
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Team is supported by experienced permanent staff and travelers
- Rapid response, change, and adaptation to various Med/Surg cases expected
- Requests for time off must be less than one week in duration
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Holiday and weekend coverage required as scheduled
- Active PA or Compact RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum of 1-2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience required
- No certifications may expire within 30 days of assignment start
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius—no local travelers accepted
- Candidates must not have a work history gap of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Must not have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the last 2 years
