Position OverviewWe are seeking an energetic and motivated Plastic Molding Machine Operator to join our team. The Plastic Molding Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of plastics molding equipment, including blow molding and injection molding machinery. This role ensures safe, efficient production of high-quality plastic parts by maintaining equipment, performing mold changes, and monitoring product quality to established standards.
Responsibilities- Start up, shut down, and monitor plastics molding machinery
- Prepare, assemble, and securely tape boxes to safely hold parts for storage and shipment
- Clean and maintain machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Inspect all parts to ensure cleanliness, correct color, and accurate dimensions
- Pack parts according to company standards and quality requirements
- Palletize finished products for storage and shipment
- Troubleshoot processing issues on molding equipment and report machinery malfunctions or part-quality issues to maintenance personnel in a timely manner
- Measure and inspect plastic parts to verify compliance with specifications, including weight, strength, color, dimensions
- Determine acceptability of finished parts and bottled products based on quality standards
- Record production data on setup sheets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plastics department
- Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Relevant manufacturing or technical experience preferred
- Prior experience working with plastics production machinery (blow molding, injection molding, thermoforming preferred)
- Working knowledge of plastics manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and follow setup sheets and production documentation
- Physical ability to move quickly and safely between machines and equipment
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment
