This position is responsible for the overall Quality and Materials role for the Weld Shop Operations in Throop. Duties include setting safety stock levels, reviewing forecasts with Sales, receiving purchase orders, and inspecting materials, inventory control, quality technical reports, non-conformance program, resolving inventory issues and achieving department goals. Responsible for the training and performance measurements of Quality and materials department. Works with the Site manager to set individual / departmental goals, and documents results and related metrics.
Responsible for ensuring complete compliance with quality systems and business controls (SOX).
Responsibilities
* Develop job assignments and direct employees in daily activities, ensuring priorities are expedited and met.
* Oversee daily warehouse activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
* Provide on-going training for new and existing employees on various department tasks, procedures and systems.
* Meet team goals by establishing priorities, scheduling activities and employees appropriately, monitoring progress, revising schedules and resolving problems.
* Drive continuous improvement through proper implementation & execution of policies and procedures for picking, packing, shipping, receiving, purchasing, and inventory management.
* Maintain inventory accuracy to established standards. Investigate inventory discrepancies prior to making adjustments, ensuring preventive corrective actions are implemented when needed.
* Work with operations and sales to purchase, analyze and maintain correct levels of inventory through forecasting, sales history, safety stock and min/max levels.
* Ensure administrative processes are completed timely and accurately while meeting productivity goals.
* Maintain facility housekeeping and adhere to corporate safety guidelines; perform assessment of needs, and implementation of proactive safety corrections in order to maintain departmental safety through team participation.
* Develop, review and maintain production standards through performance management using appropriate business tools, including but not limited to incentives, training and discipline.
• Manage workforce according to company philosophy on maintaining a union free environment.
• Other duties as assigned, which may include scheduling and leading meetings, training sessions, etc.
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent 3-5 years in a leadership role within an Operations or Warehouse / Distribution Center
* Prior 2-3 years minimum of successful Quality management system supervision required.
* Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, as well as the ability to effectively train employees
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in an organization, resolve conflicts, problem solve and influence or negotiate to desired outcomes
* Must be action and results oriented and have the ability to plan effectively using time management skills, while working in a fast-paced environment and leading a team(s)
* Strong work ethic and integrity, plus the ability to build and maintain trust with coworkers and direct reports, is essential to this position
* Prior experience purchasing and managing inventory and maintaining related controls in an operations or DC environment preferred
* Solid knowledge of Company product offerings, product applications and programs preferred
* Must have strong desire for ongoing personal development in work related areas such as operations management techniques or inventory management applications, as well as desire to reinforce and enhance interpersonal and communication skills
* Prior 2-5 years knowledge of Quality systems including, training, managing audits, presentations and data analysis.
* Must be proficient working with PC's utilizing many computer programs, products and system applications including Microsoft Office Suite Products such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Power Point, etc.
