The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. What You Will Do

Working solo or with a team, you will maintain and repair the Cox Communications Fleet, ensuring vehicles look and run like new while delivering exceptional service to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance: oil, filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, mechanical inspections, light and major repairs, advanced diagnostics, and display exceptional customer service while driving the service center’s performance with the highest integrity and trust.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance based on certification levels, including OBD II systems, brakes, tires, tune‑ups, suspension, aerial lifts, electrical, state safety inspections, interior/exterior components, engine, and driveline components.
  • Maintain and repair equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
  • Keep the shop area clean and tidy, perform work in accordance with safety standards, and dispose of all fluids safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records, and up‑fit new vehicles with the necessary equipment.
  • Perform complex repairs, advanced, design, and fabrication tasks.
  • Interface and coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs; provide roadside assistance as needed.
  • Engage in equipment design and moderate fabrication tasks, including welding.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace general automotive parts and accessories; a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs including brakes, drivability, emissions, steering/suspension, electrical, state safety and emissions testing, HVAC, major engine, and hydraulics.
  • Use medium/heavy truck experience, booms/hydraulics, electrical, and any complex repairs, design, and fabrication while working on multiple applications from light‑duty to class A‑heavy trucks, mechanical equipment, machinery, passenger vehicles, and more.
  • Schedule repairs and maintenance, maintain parts and supply inventories, and assist the Area Manager in vendor relationships and compliance.
  • Maintain shop tools, identify shop tool needs, and communicate with leadership.
  • Supervise shop productivity, provide work direction, and identify priorities to a small staff of technicians; assist the Area Manager with training compliance, HR compliance, PTO, PVO holidays, and timecards.
  • Implement SOPs and ensure shop compliance with company standards.
  • Be a self‑starter, open‑minded, and lead a team to overcome obstacles constructively and positively.
