Akkodis is seeking a Java Architect for a Contract with a client in San Jose, CA/Scottsdale, AZ
. The ideal candidate must have Java architecture experience with deep expertise in JDBC, ORM internals, and advanced SQL for analyzing large legacy systems.
$49/hour to $51/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Java Architect job responsibilities include- Analyze large Java codebases to extract embedded SQL, transaction scopes, and implicit assumptions such as ordering, locking, and isolation.
- Reverse engineer application behavior to reconstruct logical transactions and business workflows into intent-based contracts.
- Normalize SQL queries into reusable signatures and map them to tables, columns, and transaction units for compatibility assessment.
- Collaborate with Oracle and Spanner architects to validate runtime behavior and assess migration feasibility.
- Create detailed artifacts including SQL signature libraries, transaction behavior maps, and app-to-data dependency graphs.
- Support QA teams by providing realistic workload replay inputs and identifying compatibility risk flags for legacy systems.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in Java application architecture and large-scale system analysis.
- Deep expertise in JDBC, transaction management, and ORM internals (Hibernate/JPA), with strong SQL knowledge for complex queries.
- Proven experience in reverse engineering large legacy systems and ability to analyze codebases developed by multiple teams over time.

Pay Details$49.00 to $51.00 per hour
