GRANT FUNDED POSITION
Definition:
Under the Workforce Innovation Opportunities Act and general supervision from WIOA Program Supervisor, the incumbent assists with working with individuals seeking participation in the Employment and Training WIOA Program. Interacts with several program participants, partners, potential employers to support the program's goal of supporting individuals with their educational goal that will lead to a successful employment outcome. Will coordinate outreach opportunities, provide program education and support other critical areas related to workforce services that are related to supporting the participant in their educational and employment goals.
Will track all program participant confidential information, to include maintaining participant records and will conduct program eligibility. Performs various administrative, paraprofessional and clerical functions to support participants of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community for services under the Employment and Training Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Incumbent ensures that quality, effective and efficient services are provided to participant receiving services to meet their needs and assist with their career development plans.
This job class is treated as FLSA Non-Exempt and considered a DRIVING position.
Essential Functions
Interviews potential participants to determine program eligibility, enrolling those who qualify, and develops individual service strategy plans (ISS) and or individual employment plan (IEP). Evaluates social and financial needs and verifies information provided by participants. Provides case management support, follow up and support services to the participant.Conducts an assessment of potential participants to determine suitable and eligible participants for services. Refers participants to other resource agencies and programs such as, internal HR resources, Behavioral Health, Social Services, Health Services, Day Care, and Transportation when necessary. Coordinates with other agencies to provide emergency assistance and resources involving food, clothing, crisis intervention and/or medical services. May occasionally make home visits to provide case management, follow up and support to individuals and their families as is necessary.Maintains case management records through applicable systems/databases for tracking, participant’s enrollment registration, same day services and monthly case notes for participants enrolled in program. Maintains current and comprehensive case files that include assessments, case plans and other case file documentation. Maintains statistical data on participants to meet reporting requirements.Confers with representatives from public and private agencies and organizations such as, Child Care Centers, educational/training institutions, City Transit System and area Food Banks. Coordinates services to develop and establish employment/training opportunities for program participants. For qualification purposes, inputs and/or records case information and maintains up-to-date case files.Provides coaching, encouragement, and support to participants. Develops effective short and long term employment and educational plans with clients. Provides participants follow-up service for 12 months after exit to ensure optimum performance outcomes are achieved. Provides employment and training counseling and career development services along with job search assistance to program participants.Assists with and refers participants to job placements or educational classes during customers’ participation. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and documents program participation as required by regulatory sources, and departmental requirements. Prepares and submits required documentation for approval of support services on participant’s behalf. Assists participants with post-secondary and employment transition plans as needed.Participates in weekly staff meetings; discusses participant’s activities, challenges and success to develop effective strategies to support the participant with their plan that may require additional input.
