Position Objective- Provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students; reports the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office.
- Monitors activities on campus to ensure the safety of students, which may include: identifying safety violations; diffusing situations among students; reinforcing positive social behavior.
- Performs minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and/or dangerous situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
B (Non‑Exempt)
Education & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Licensing Requirements- Ability to complete Crossing Guard training.
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
- Basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures.
- Customer service principles.
- Recognizing potential security risks.
- Providing customer service.
- Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Reaching, finger dexterity, and grasping; talking; hearing; seeing; and repetitive motions. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time with occasional walking and standing. Exertion up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
