POSITION SUMMARY
The Consumer Direct Sales Trainee is an entry‑level role designed for individuals preparing to become licensed Consumer Direct Mortgage Loan Originators. This trainee is actively completing NMLS licensing requirements while participating in structured training within a call‑center‑driven sales environment. Working under the supervision of branch sales leadership, the trainee will learn how to engage with customers, manage high‑volume inbound and outbound calls, and support the consumer direct sales process.
The role requires exceptional organization, efficiency, and resourcefulness. Success depends on the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced call‑center setting, remain flexible under pressure, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Training & Licensing- Complete all required NMLS and state specific licensing coursework, testing, and registration steps.
- Participate in structured sales, product, systems, and call center training to prepare for transition into a licensed Consumer Direct Mortgage Loan Originator role.
- Demonstrate consistent progress toward meeting all licensing and training milestones.
- Learn to manage high volume inbound and outbound consumer calls in a call center environment.
- Practice identifying customer needs, gathering preliminary information, and preparing for future responsibilities as a licensed loan originator.
- Support branch sales activities and call center operations as directed by management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow internal procedures as part of the training process.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Strong critical thinking and sound judgment, with the ability to evaluate data, anticipate downstream impacts, and assess risk.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Intermediate math proficiency.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Professionalism and patience when interacting with internal and external customers.
- High ethical standards and alignment with company values.
- Proficiency with data entry, PDF software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, must also be 18 years or older.
