Commercial Legal Assistant

Base pay range: $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Are you a master of organization with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for the business side of law? We are looking for a proactive Commercial Legal Assistant to join our team at Gurstel Law Firm P.C.

As a Commercial Legal Assistant you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to:

• Complete complex legal tasks and perform legal support functions in all states in which the Firm operates.
• Assist in preparing files; review, draft, file, and serve legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Follow, create, and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Demonstrate the Firm’s core values in interactions with co‑workers, attorneys, clients, the courts, and consumers.
• Scanning, photocopying, collating, and faxing.
• Legal data entry.
• Handle client inquiries.
• Ability to multitask.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, prioritize deadlines and commitments.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Self‑starter and motivated.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite:
  Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to extract information from the firm’s software to create reports or summaries for managing attorneys or the Director of the Department.
• 50+ WPM typing skills.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Legal field certificate or 2‑year degree (experience may substitute for education).
• Background in civil litigation required; background in Creditors Rights laws preferred.

This position requires up to 0‑5% travel. Travel excludes local commute.
