About the RoleLooking for a hands‑on Data Modeler with strong technical expertise and waste management domain experience to support a data warehouse modernization initiative. The role focuses on migrating existing Informatica-based models into Snowflake using DBT (Data Build Tool), while designing a unified canonical data model that integrates multiple source systems. You’ll architect and maintain a Medallion data structure (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) that delivers reliable, analytics‑ready data for business use.
Key Responsibilities- Rebuild and migrate data models from Informatica to a modern Snowflake/DBT platform.
- Design and implement canonical data models that unify multiple operational and transactional data sources into a single data warehouse.
- Develop and maintain a Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to ensure scalable, high‑quality data pipelines.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into optimized, reusable models.
- Build and tune ETL/ELT processes for performance and reliability.
- Ensure strong data governance, documentation, and lineage tracking across models.
- Minimum 6+ years of professional experience in data modeling and data architecture.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Informatica (Power Center/IICS), Snowflake, and DBT.
- Proven experience building canonical data models that combine data from multiple source systems.
- Excellent proficiency in SQL for data transformation, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Domain expertise in waste management or environmental services, including operational, billing, fleet, recycling, disposal, and compliance data.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering and business teams.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, or Airflow for orchestration and automation.
- Understanding of performance tuning and Snowflake optimization best practices.
- Exposure to BI tools (Power BI) and curated data delivery from Gold layers.
