Embedded Device Test Engineer

Our client in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an Embedded Device Test Engineer to join their QA team. This role focuses on validating embedded and device products through a mix of manual and automated testing, while driving CI/CD best practices and pipeline scalability. You’ll work closely with embedded, cloud, QA, SRE, and firmware teams to ensure high-quality releases and efficient workflows.

• Onsite in Scottsdale, AZ (5 days/week)
• 3–10+ years QA for embedded/device products
• 3+ years Linux testing & scripting (Bash; Python or Golang preferred)
• Strong Jenkins experience (setup, scaling, reusable libraries, CI/CD workflows as code)
• Proficiency in Python or Bash for tooling, test frameworks, and lab automation
• Experience with Python, Moby, or Appium for test automation
• Ability to instrument pipelines/tests and analyze dashboards (pass rate, duration, flake rate)
• Collaborative across embedded, cloud, QA, SRE, and firmware teams

• Device flashing & boot loader (DFU, MCU/boot, U-Boot)

• Execute manual tests on physical devices (75% manual, 20–25% automation)
• Write/maintain hardware & firmware test cases
• Design tests for normal, fault injection, and soak scenarios
• Report/analyze bugs
• Build/scale Jenkins pipelines for CI/CD
• Instrument pipelines/tests for metrics
  
  Develop reusable libraries for HIL/E2E tests
• Collaborate with QA, SRE, firmware, and cloud teams
• Participate in standups, meetings, and interviews
