Job Overview

As the HR Manager for the Arizona market, you will be a key partner to leadership, supporting managers and associates across the organization. This role focuses on employee relations, talent management, compliance, and HR administration while also contributing to areas such as leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, leadership development, benefits, and payroll.

Compensation

$90 – 100 k annually, depending on experience. First Service Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. For positions at a client’s property, the salary will also be premised upon the client’s directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Job Responsibilities
  • Partner with leadership on employee relations and ensure policies, procedures, and practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including analysis, maintenance, and communication of required records.
  • Recruit and retain a high‑performing culture.
  • Collaborate with leaders and the Talent Acquisition team to identify, evaluate, and attract talent for various roles.
  • Ensure robust onboarding plans to effectively integrate new associates.
  • Analyze causes of turnover and suggest approaches to improve associate retention.
Performance Management and Employee Relations
  • Educate and coach leaders on performance‑management processes for developing associate potential and rewarding competencies that help First Service Residential succeed.
  • Partner with supervisors to coach associates to maximize performance and to implement performance‑improvement plans with non‑performing associates.
  • Act as an advisor to managers on employment issues, promotions, performance issues, and terminations.
  • Manage and resolve employee‑relations issues, including all Ethics Hotline concerns, and conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
Company Culture
  • Coach leaders and associates on the First Service company culture to support company goals, drive associate satisfaction, and exemplify core values.
  • Recommend organizational structure and staffing levels to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Partner with leaders on associate engagement, building and executing engagement plans based on survey feedback.
Deliver on HR Metrics
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR Director to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders to guide decision‑making and leverage technology to streamline HR operations.
Acquisitions / Takeover Business
  • Partner with business leader to manage the HR side of takeover account integrations, including culture, change management, benefits, compensation, incentives, performance, organizational structure, communication, redundancies, policies, and others.
Compliance with Regulatory and Legal Matters
  • Ensure local compliance with federal, state, and local labor law and reporting requirements, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, workers' compensation, DFEH, and OSHA.
  • Work closely with the HR Director in preparation of information or investigations required for compliance.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and state‑mandated vehicle insurance, as driving will be required.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge/experience in Human Resources (minimum 5 years).
  • Specialized training in preventative labor relations and Human Resources management (required).
  • Broad knowledge of labor and employment law, wage and salary administration, and well‑developed administrative and communication skills (required).
