Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides intensive 24-hour support for youth aged 7 to 17 with serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. In a structured, therapeutic environment, we combine clinical expertise with trauma-informed care to help youth heal, grow and build a brighter future. The RTC features dormitories, an accredited K-12 school, food services, 24/7 on-site nursing, and specialized therapy and clinical services.

Direct care staff provide direct supervision and assist the day-to-day schedule for campus individuals. Direct support duties include: helping individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs, de-escalating crisis situations, treatment plan implementation, personal care (bathing, dressing), medication management, transport, and fostering social skills. Other duties include documenting progress for daily, weekly, and monthly logs, adhering to the activity schedule, and attending weekly clinical supervision meetings.

Direct care staff also assist with planning and implementation of enrichment activities such as art projects, music groups, culinary arts, athletics (basketball, soccer, swimming), and adult-transition prep.

Pay Range: $19 - $20.90 / hr

Shift Differentials: $1/hr. 3pm-11pm and $2/hr. 11pm-7am, 7 days/wk.

Various Full Time Scheduling Options; ability to work afternoons/nights and weekends

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• HS Diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or relevant field preferred
• Six (6) weeks of behavioral health work experience required
• OR Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, education or other related field OR 12 years of related experience
• Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex PTSD, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders

• Must be available to attend two weeks of new hire orientation (paid, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm) plus 2-3 weeks of on the job training
• Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
• Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment
• Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
• Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions).
