Schedule #3 8-hrs, NIGHT/Overnight Shift Weekly

Schedule:

5-days, 8-hour OVERNIGHT shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM), includes working one weekend day or full weekends

Location:

HHS-JTR Residence Women's or Men's Unit (up to 24 residents) Staffing:
The BHT will work alongside a team of 2–3 (BHT & PSS, 1:8 or 1:12), with supervisory support and/or access to on-call supervisory support.

Schedule #4 8.5-hrs, MID Shift Weekly

Schedule:

5-days, 8.5-hour MID shift (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM), includes working one weekend day or full weekends

Location:

HHS-JTR Residence Women's or Men's Unit (up to 24 residents) Staffing:
The BHT will work alongside a team of 3–4 (BHT & PSS, 1:6 or 1:8 ratio), with supervisory support.

Schedule #5 8-hrs, DAY Shift Weekly

Schedule:

5-days, 8-hour DAY shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM), includes working one weekend day or full weekends

Location:

Schedule #6 8-hrs, Split-Shift (between Days and Mid shifts) Weekly

The BHT will work alongside a team of 3–4 (BHT & PSS, 1:6 or 1:8 ratio), with supervisory support.

Definition

Under direct supervision from the Journey-to-Recovery (JTR) Supervisor and/or Clinical Manager (BHP): provides assessment, facilitates groups, mentors clients, and provides monitoring and assistance for individuals with chemical dependency problems. Works in a withdrawal management, residential or outpatient setting to help create and support a safe, secure and therapeutic environment. Works with clients in the clinical programs and administers critical client referral care for medical and/or emergency treatment when necessary.

Works closely with the Clinical team to ensure best outcomes for clinical care. This job class is treated as FLSA Non-Exempt.

Essential Functions
  • Interviews, screens and evaluates clients according to the established Intake process.
  • Provides clinical support to clients by way of mentoring, facilitating groups, have individual therapeutic contact, providing case management as needed, teaching recovery skills, facilitating recovery team meetings and working with families.
  • Works with an integrated care team to ensure the best services for clients are achieved to include: psychiatry, counseling, case management and primary care. Often transports to appointments and connects clients to care outside and inside the clinical programs.
  • Provides daily clinical documentation into client charts to ensure accurate reports of daily log of shift activities and client progress.
  • Works as liaison services between programs and treatment centers including referral agencies.
  • Facilitates connection to care by transporting clients to Alcohol Education, Behavioral Health appointments and/or AA/NA meetings.
  • Provides basic one-on-one counseling and support to clients with chemical dependency problems during their stay or over the telephone.
  • Attends ongoing training and participates in prevention and intervention community awareness events. Works to develop continued clinical skills by attending clinical oversight twice a month.
  • May be called upon to assist in the training of new and current staff (full-time and temporary staff) on program procedures.
  • Performs all required administrative tasks associated with the Behavioral Health Tech role as directed to include (answering phone, great customer service, coordination of care, documentation needs).
  • When directed completes assessments/intakes, screenings, case management services.
  • Works shift work (am, pm, night shifts) and is willing to work weekends/nights.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
    • Knowledge of the culture, customs, traditions and history of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
    • Knowledge of First-Aid methods and CPR techniques.
    • Knowledge of Recovery Principles, Motivational Interviewing and Medication Assisted Treatment.
    • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, chronic medical illnesses and their basic symptoms.
