Position Summary

A detail-oriented and motivated Clinical Research Assistant is needed to join SMIL’s research team. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with participant recruitment, screening, and enrollment activities
  • Review medical records to determine participant eligibility
  • Conduct informed consent discussions with potential study participants
  • Maintain regular communication with study participants throughout the research process
  • Coordinate study visits and ensure timely completion of study procedures
  • Schedule radiological exams for various studies, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and other imaging procedures
  • Collect and process biological specimens according to protocol specifications
  • Ensure proper documentation of all research activities in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines and study protocols
  • Perform accurate data entry into electronic data capture systems
  • Maintain source documents and study files in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist with data queries and quality checks to ensure data integrity
  • Support monitoring visits and audits

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in life science, nursing, or related field
  • Previous clinical research experience preferred but not required for highly motivated candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy with demonstrated experience performing venipuncture
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • CITI training certification in human subject's research (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional lifting of research materials and supplies up to 25 pounds.
