Medical Receptionist - Physical Therapy

- Answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and helpfully; screen, route calls, and create patient notes in the electronic medical record.
- Serve as the first point of contact: greet, check‑in, check‑out, and provide excellent patient service.
- Manage schedules and assist with insurance verification and other physical therapy insurance requirements.
- Support staff by keeping the front desk organized and running smoothly.
- Assist with indexing patient documents into the correct chart.
- Assist with routing electronic faxes to the appropriate fax folder or uploading to the patient chart.
- Perform other duties as needed during downtime.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer / patient service skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of computer programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to perform training on practice management software.
- Willingness to expand knowledge of software as updates occur.
- Follow all standard operating procedures.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of medical office experience.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
- Basic phone handling skills – contact center experience.
- Basic knowledge of insurance plans and the specialty referral process.
