Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant
$1bn+ public company corporate HQ is seeking a Senior Accountant to support lease accounting and financial reporting activities under ASC 842.
This role offers exposure to complex accounting matters, SEC reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with Treasury and Finance teams. On site;
Scottsdale, AZ.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and eager to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Support monthly close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account analysis
- Review and validate lease-related expenses across operating and finance lease portfolios
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and roll forwards, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance related to complex lease arrangements
- Partner with Treasury on finance lease transactions and related funding activities
- Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures (10-Q / 10-K)
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to lease activity
- Maintain and execute SOX controls over lease accounting processes
- Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audit requirements
- Participate in process improvements and special projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 2–5+ years of experience in public accounting or a large/public company environment
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly lease accounting under ASC 842
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who works well independently and collaboratively
Employment type:

Salary: $85-95k + bonus
The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
