We are looking for a versatile finance professional who can own day-to-day accounting operations while also supporting planning, forecasting, and financial analysis. This is a hands‑on role that sits at the intersection of accounting hygiene and forward‑looking finance. You will run the internal finance engine, keep our books and close process clean, and translate business activity into clear forecasts and decision support for leadership.
You will partner closely with our external accounting firm for monthly close, tax, and compliance, while keeping the internal financial system organized, timely, and audit‑ready.

Director of Operations, working in the Scottsdale, AZ office.
You will be the internal owner of bookkeeping quality and accounting workflow before it is handed off to our external accounting firm.
- Own accounts payable workflow including invoice intake, coding, approvals, vendor set up, and payment scheduling.
- Manage employee expense process including policy support, audit of submissions, approvals, and reimbursement coordination.
- Perform routine reconciliations including bank, credit card, and key balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and organize month end close support, including schedules, work papers, and tie outs for the external accounting firm.
- Maintain discipline around chart of accounts, class or department tagging, and documentation so reporting is consistent.
- Support payroll coordination and payroll related reconciliations in partnership with HR and the external firm.
- Maintain strong internal controls appropriate for company stage, including approval flows and segregation of duties where feasible.
You will keep our planning models up to date, improve forecasting rigor, and provide actionable analysis to help leaders make better decisions.
- Maintain and update operating models that connect revenue, headcount, expenses, and cash flow.
- Own monthly and quarterly forecast cycles, including variance analysis versus budget and prior forecast.
- Build and maintain KPI reporting that ties financial outcomes to operational drivers.
- Support strategic analysis such as scenario planning, capacity planning, pricing or packaging inputs, and investment trade offs.
- Improve cash visibility through a rolling cash forecast and working capital monitoring.
- Prepare clear, decision oriented materials for leadership, including board ready reporting when needed.
- Partner with department leads to improve spending hygiene, budgeting discipline, and forecast inputs.
- Evaluate and improve finance workflows and tools, including accounting system, expense platform, bill pay, and reporting cadence.
- Document finance processes so the function scales cleanly as volume grows.
- Act as a trusted partner to the external accounting firm, ensuring they receive clean inputs on time and that issues are resolved quickly.
- Close inputs are accurate, complete, and delivered on time to the external accounting firm with minimal rework.
- Leadership can see a reliable monthly view of actuals versus budget, with clear explanations of variances.
- Forecasts are driver based and improve in accuracy and usefulness over time.
- Cash reporting is consistent, with clear visibility into runway and upcoming cash needs.
- Finance workflows feel easier for the organization, not heavier, because process and tools are well designed.
- Experience owning core bookkeeping and accounting operations in a small to mid sized environment, ideally partnering with an external accounting firm.
- Strong spreadsheet and modeling capability, including building and maintaining forecast models.
- Working knowledge of core accounting concepts including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets basics, revenue recognition considerations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ability to translate messy real world activity into clean financial inputs and clear reporting.
- High judgment and discretion with confidential financial and payroll related information.
- Clear communication with both finance and non finance stakeholders.
- Experience in a high growth environment where process is being built and improved.
- Familiarity with common finance tools such as Quick Books, Net Suite, Xero, , Ramp, Brex, Expensify, Rippling, Gusto, or equivalents.
- Exposure to board reporting, investor updates, or lender reporting.
- CPA, CMA, or prior public accounting experience is a plus but not required.
