With direction and supervision from the department head, the successful candidate will provide direct support to develop and analyze all relevant depository and credit information for a wide range of bank business customers or prospects. This includes preparing and assisting with credit authorizations in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, developing detailed collateral analyses, coordinating appraisal and third‑party analysis, and spreading financial statements to determine borrowers’ financial capacity.

The role also supports the opening of new depository accounts, ensuring all legal and compliance‑related materials are collected.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Grow and maintain a list of qualified centers of influence that complement the industries or niches served.
  • Identify and attend marketing events that complement or serve the industry or product niches of the portfolio.
  • Source and develop new business relationships consisting of both loan and deposit products.
  • Interface with borrowers and borrowers’ advisors as necessary.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of cash management and deposit products offered by the Bank.
  • Work as a member of a team of Sunwest Bank product experts to ensure continuity of high‑quality service and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Create and maintain effective relationships with members of the team.
  • Maintain a high degree of creativity and independence.
  • Interact with branch staff, bank operations, and cash management to support business services and products.
  • Deliver excellent customer service both inside and outside the Bank.
  • Request and prepare financial information needed by the supervisor to identify potential operations and lending risks and ensure proper documentation on accounts.
  • Underwrite directly or manage the underwriting process of all loans under the supervisor’s responsibility.
  • Review requests for the establishment or renewal of loans.
  • Compile all necessary documentation to prepare and draw loan documents.
  • Ensure credit files for all loans under the supervisor’s responsibility are complete and prepared in form and substance satisfactory for Credit Administration and regulatory review.
  • Effectively manage the loan process to ensure requests are being reviewed efficiently and approved transactions are completed quickly and accurately.
  • Understand and ensure regulatory and policy compliance with state and federal requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti‑Money Laundering Act, Community Reinvestment Act, OFAC Regulations, Fair Lending, and GLBA.
  • Attend training and maintain a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing financial institutions.
  • Perform other departmental duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to understand different legal entity structures.
  • Knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
  • General computer skills (Excel, Word and internet access).
  • Organizational ability with capacity to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to take the initiative and prioritize tasks; good time management and problem‑solving skills.
