Tri Pointe Homes is hiring an Accounts Payable Lead for its Scottsdale, AZ operations center. This hybrid role requires on-site presence at the Scottsdale Operations Center.
Position SummaryProvides financial and administrative support by ensuring payments are completed, invoices are processed, verified and reconciled in accordance with established policies and procedures. The AP Lead serves as the primary point of contact for divisions, resolving vendor issues, maintaining the payment schedule, and supervising direct‑report workloads. Invoices are properly allocated at loan level and to the appropriate divisional branches.
Responsibilities- Train new hires in all areas of Accounts Payable
- Perform and/or assist with weekly check runs and ACH
- Void and reissue payments
- Run Positive Pay in secure bank portals
- Update the AP Project list for direct reports and distribute new projects as they develop
- Work closely with vendors to reconcile outstanding aging or resolve problems
- Act as point person to answer questions from management, divisions and accounting team members regarding problem invoices, aging, miscodes and process issues
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Timely code invoices to the proper general ledger account and cost center and ensure proper approvals
- Validate Positive Pay; research and resolve exceptions
- Update and maintain AP procedures
- Perform AP month‑end close
- Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a mortgage bank, homebuilding or construction organization
- Exposure to mortgage or escrow, title and closing process for real‑estate transactions desired
- Familiar with vendor payment processes and procedures
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment (approx. process 500+ invoices per week)
- Highly organized and able to work independently
- Adaptable and flexible; able to adjust quickly to changing priorities
- Maintains ownership of processes in area of responsibility
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and listening skills; able to articulate ideas/issues, improve and document business processes
- May be sedentary for extended periods (4+ hours per day)
- Visual acuity for detailed computer work
- Fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision such as typing
This position is hybrid (not fully remote) and located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
